TRAFFIC PATTERNS AND COOKIES
Every computer on the Internet has a unique address called an Internet Protocol (“IP” Address). An IP address is just like a telephone number in that it is a long string of numbers. IP addresses are automatically assigned to all Internet users by their Internet Service Providers (ISP). However, since it would be difficult to remember everyone’s IP address, the Internet allows you to type in an easy to remember name, i.e. a domain name or e-mail address which corresponds to the IP address. So, instead of typing 22.214.171.124.89, you can use BN3TH.com, and other Internet users contact you by using your e-mail or domain name address instead of your IP address.
We use “cookies”, a common Internet technology which provides you with tailored navigation and content on the relevant corporate or brand (e.g. www.BN3TH.ca) website based on your navigation history and preferences. Cookies may be sent to your browser’s temporary memory system to assist you in navigating during a particular session only. Or a cookie can be sent to your hard drive in order to serve you better when you return to the website (for example to recognize you when you return to the website or when you visit another website, to save your password and to offer you customized content we believe will be of interest to you). You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie giving you the opportunity to accept or to refuse it. See “Help” in your browser. Deleting or not accepting cookies will not prevent you from accessing this website or participating on the website. However, if you do not employ the technology your navigation may be less convenient or personalized given the purposes for cookies.
YOUR CUSTOMIZED PROFILE
By reviewing your navigation habits on our website and other websites, and the personal information you provide or that we may collect from other sources, we have a better understanding of your preferences, needs and interests. We can then develop a customized profile for you in order to provide you with the optimum site experience, to serve you advertisements that are tailored to your interests, and to contact you about products, events, promotions and services in which we believe you would be most interested.
THIRD PARTY ADVERTISING NETWORKS
CREDIT CARD DATA AND VERIFICATION
If you choose to purchase products or services that require a credit card, BN3TH and third party credit card processors will collect and use your credit card information to process the transaction you have made on this website. For your protection, we do not maintain credit card information on file subsequent to transaction processing. This means that for subsequent transactions, you will be required to re-enter your credit card information.
We may ask you to create a password to which we will have access. This is for your protection to protect against error and fraud and to verify your identity.
MANAGING OUR BUSINESS
BN3TH takes reasonable security measures (physical, organizational and technological) to safeguard personal information against loss or theft, or unauthorized access, use, disclosure, copying or modification. However, the Internet is not a secure medium. If you choose to communicate with us online, the privacy of your communications and personal information can never be guaranteed. BN3TH has no control over the practices of others (for example, websites to which this website is linked; people who misrepresent themselves as you or someone else).
LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES
We cannot assume any responsibility for the privacy practices for websites (other than BN3TH websites) to which this website is linked. You should review the privacy policies of all websites (including those of other BN3TH sites) to which this site may be linked.
TAILORED COMMUNICATIONS AND ADVERTISING POLICY
TAILORED ADVERTISING AND COMMUNICATIONS
BN3TH collects personal information directly from you, including your name, contact information, date of birth and expressed preferences and opinions (e.g. beer brand preference). BN3TH may also collect information about you based on your visits and interactions on our website or other websites. If you consent, we may also collect information about you from third party websites, such as social networking sites, where you are a registered user. For example, we may share a cryptographic hash of your e-mail address with a third party website or service provider (by using the hashing process, your e-mail address is never disclosed to the third party). If the hashed e-mail address from BN3TH matches the hashed e-mail address from the third party website, the third party identifies you as part of a group of individuals to whom BN3TH ads should be served on its website. The third party or service provider may also return certain information about you to us, which is obtained from your profile on the third party site (such as your age range, interests, gender and location: for example, male, age 25 to 35, from Thunder Bay) as well as your social network ID, if applicable. We use this information to develop a customized profile about you in order to serve you tailored advertising when you visit third party sites, to provide you with the optimum site experience when you visit our site and to contact you about products, events, promotions and services in which we believe you would be most interested.
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.
However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.
In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.
As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.
