"My understanding is that this is third party insurance to protect loss and damage during shipping and is supposed to even cover theft and breakage beyond normal carrier insurance. I have never had the need to file a claim so I cannot verify the claims process. It was not expensive and there are "porch pirates" in our area so it was worth the piece of mind for me."
